The 45th reunion of Ft. Lauderdale High Class of 1965 was a great sucess. We had people as old as Terry Robinson Class of 63 and his child bride Patty all the way to Anne Bellissimo Class of 70, even a couple of old ladies from the Class of 64. Lot's of fun and lots of stories that can't be published.

Class of 65 pre-reunion pub crawl - all classes invited
FLHS Class of 65 pre-reunion pub crawl - All classes invited. Already paid the van provider $300 for the costs of the vans for the pub crawl. just $12 per person. Meet in the Lobby of Pier 66 around 7:15 on Thursday, June 24 to vote where the vans will take us.We may have 2 vans one would continue to club all night and the other would go to Lester's Diner on 84 around 11 before returning to the hotel. Suggestions?

All classes 60-70 invited to a Thursday nite Flying L pub crawl leaving the Pier 66 Lobby at 7:30 to Las Olas then picking us up at 11:30 to Elbo Room then back to the hotel. I have arranged for vans for only $12 per person. Please make a reservation at FlyingL65@aol.com so we know how many vans.

The class of 1965 will be holding their 45th class reunion at Pier 66 Thursday June 24th through Sunday June 27.

Since most of our children are now grown and married we will not censor any video submitted and it will be played exactly the way you send it.
You can also make video message for an old friend or enemy, we will play then all.

Room rates at Pier 66 have been extended to Wednesday, June 2.
The $99 rate is good until then. You MUST mention “Ft Lauderdale High – Class of ’65 Reunion” to receive this special rate. For reservations, contact them at (954) 525-6666 or (888) 421-1442.

June is fast approaching and things are shaping up for our 45th !! This will be the final bulletin by mail. We will be sending updates to those of you who have given us your
e-mail address. If you haven’t already done so send your “Blue information/registration sheet” back ASAP. Even though you may not be able to attend this reunion, your information will help us stay in touch with you for the next reunion and other functions.

Friday, June 25. The hospitality suite will be open around noon to meet and greet old classmates. It is very close to the pool and the Lanai rooms. Even if you aren’t coming to the Friday or Saturday night events, please feel free to join us during the day Friday or Saturday in the hospitality suite. Our Friday night buffet will be held at the Pier’s Panorama Room. We will have appetizers and a cash bar on the deck overlooking the Intracoastal, followed by a delicious Florida style bar-b-que buffet dinner. Enjoy music and dancing from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. If you just want to sit and talk with old friends, you will be able to find a quiet table or catch a breeze on the deck. Dress is casual! Social Hour 6:30-7:45pm Dinner 8:00pm---?
Saturday, June 26. Drift fishing will start at 8am-Noon. The Flamingo fishing boat is located at Bahia Mar. Contact Rick Keller: kell7801@bellsouth.net for information.
Saturday, June 26. During the day you can visit with friends by the beautiful pool, relax in our hospitality suite, take a water taxi ride along the New River & Intracoastal Waterway, or hop on the free shuttle to the beach. Saturday evening will be held in the Crystal Ballroom. We will have appetizers and a cash bar. (Sodas, tea, & juice at no charge) A dinner buffet will feature 5 different lavish food stations. We’ll have a great DJ and a huge dance floor. You can dance, watch or talk the night away. Once again dress will be tropical casual, so guys get out those Hawaiian shirts! Social hour and pictures 6:30-7:45pm. Dinner and Dancing 8:00pm--? The hospitality suite will be open after the ballroom closes until ------------------ ??????
Sunday, June 27. Make plans to join friends in the hospitality suite for a continental breakfast (provided by your reunion committee) and one last good bye. It’s such a fun weekend you won’t want to miss.
Displays: Thank you to those who have already sent pictures for “The Wall”. If you are unable to attend the reunion we would like to include a picture of you and your family, past reunions, elementary or high school photos. Please label photo from left to right. If you want your photos returned, print your name and address on the back.
Alumni Directory: Once again we will be compiling a directory after the reunion. This wonderful book will have lots of fun pictures of the reunion, names, addresses, etc. of all classmates. The cost is $20. Send your check to the address listed on the attached flyer.

Thursday Nite Las Olas Pub Crawl
Some people are traveling from long distances and staying several days. Many still live in SoFla. Bob Saxon, Ronnie Smith and I decided to extend the reunion by inviting anyone classes 63 - 67 to come on a Thurday evening Las Olas Pub Crawl on 6/24.
We will assemble in the Lobby of Pier 66 around 7 and go till we drop. Right now we plan to breakup into cabs so no one gets a DUI but if there is enough interest we will try to get the hotel courtesy van or a party bus,

Class of 65 Reunion includes Fishing
FLHS Class of 65 is going to have a Drift Boat Fishing event on Saturday Morning June 26, 2010. All class mates and spouses including other FLHS class mates and spouses are invited.
From: 8AM to 12PM Saturday June 26, 2010
Where: Flamingo Drift Fishing Boat Bahia Mar
Cost: $32.00 per person 1 to 30 people. Price includes tax, bait and rods, but not a tip
Cost: $34.00 per person for 30 and we charter the boat ($850.00 plus 15% tip, no tax) From 31 to 49 people the price drops to $20.00 per person plus tip for the last 19 people
Bring: Sunglasses, hat and cold drinks, snacks and beer if you desire, no hard stuff and no glass
Boat Info: There is an inner cabin where you can buy snacks and drinks and be out of the weather.

February update
We wanted to keep each of you informed about the current updates for the 45th reunion of our FLHS 1965 graduating class. Further up dates will be forwarded as they occur.
The second mailing was sent last Thursday (2/18) and you should be receiving that letter within the next few days. The committee's hard work has resulted in reasonable prices for your stay at the Pier 66 as well as all the activities. Please fill out the "blue" information sheet as soon as possible and mail it back to us. This sheet will be used to verify that you will be attending and the information that you include will be part of the reunion booklet.
